More Ways to Donate to House of Hope

Monthly Gifts

By arranging to make a monthly gift through a credit card or checking account transfer, you provide a consistent source of funds for House of Hope to help people year-round. To set up monthly gifts, please use our online donation form.

Donate Items

We are always grateful for donations of food and household items. See our donate items page for more information.

We also provide free furniture pick up in Martin County.

Adopt a Crop

Now, you can help keep the gardens and farm producing fresh produce for House of Hope pantries by adopting a crop at our Growing Hope Farm or one of our five Nutrition Gardens. Each adoption supports the planting, maintenance, and harvesting of that crop for a full year. Options include adopting a full nutrition garden, half of a nutrition garden, an aeroponic tower at the Farm, a raised bed at the Farm, or a hydroponic row of plants at the Farm. Bequests and Planned Giving

Your lifetime of good work can become a legacy of hope by including House of Hope in your will or estate plan. Other means of planned giving include charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, or making House of Hope a beneficiary in your life insurance or retirement plan. For more information, contact AmyB@hohmartin.org or (772) 286-4673, ext. 1002.

Vehicles, property, real estate, etc.

House of Hope welcomes gifts of property – real estate or personal items such as cars, jewelry, and boats. Depending on the nature of the donation, House of Hope may convert the generously donated items directly into critical program funding, or in the case of vehicles, we may be able to offer the item directly to a client in need.

Through a high level of case management, our case management team is often able to assess and assist clients whose situations would greatly benefit from having their own reliable transportation. These specific candidates are carefully screened to assure that car ownership would be an enhancement to their equation rather than an added strain on their household budget.

Donating residential real estate is another asset suitable as a planned gift to House of Hope. Before you sell residential real estate and donate the net proceeds to charity, consider donating that property directly to a charity for two major benefits: 1) A potential income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value, and 2) A greater gift to charity – charities don’t pay capital gains taxes, so the full value of your gift would go to House of Hope.

For more information, contact AmyB@hohmartin.org or (772) 286-4673, ext. 1002.

IRA/Retirement Assets

Charitable IRA Rollover legislation allows for donors 70½ years or older to make cash gifts totaling up to $100,000 from a traditional or Roth IRA without incurring income tax on the withdrawal. Please consult your financial advisor for further information.

Gifts of Stocks & Securities

There are advantages to donating stock directly to House of Hope rather than cashing it out and making a donation. When stock is donated, you can claim the full market value of the stock as of the day it was given as a charitable gift, and you do not have to pay capital gains tax. Appreciated stock held over time could have significant savings. Please consult your financial advisor when making this consideration.

For more information, contact AmyB@hohmartin.org or (772) 286-4673, ext. 1002.

Memorial or Recognition Gifts

You can make a donation in the name of a friend or family member as a memorial gift or to mark a special occasion. We will send a note card to the recipient(s) to make them aware of your gift. This information is collected through our online donation form, mail-in donation form, or you can simply write a note when submitting your donation to House of Hope.
